20091007 Idul Fitri - National Holiday 2009

As we are all aware, our Indonesia government decided the 20th September 2009 (Sunday) as an official "Idul Fitri" day in Indonesia. Practitioners start to question this situation, related to the NATIONAL HOLIDAY status for 2009. How do you think we should treat such day in our organizations?

A = 
1. The announcement for 20th Sep 2009 as an official "Idul Fitri" day in Indonesia is considered as a formal thing. This religious day has been formally recognized as a NATIONAL HOLIDAY in Indonesia.

2. At the other hand, the previous government regulation concerning NATIONAL HOLIDAY 2009 (where "Idul Fitri" had been assigned on 21st and 22nd Sep 2009) has not been cancelled or revised. It means the validity of such regulation is there still.

3. Therefore; we may treat 20, 21 & 22 Sep 2009 as NATIONAL HOLIDAY for "Idul Fitri" in Indonesia.
